“Portraits from Paris” – A Refined and Evocative Release by Pianist Vincent Yang

KNS Classical is delighted to announce the release of Portraits from Paris, a captivating new album by Chinese-Canadian pianist Vincent Yang. This program, rich in character and color, offers a musical journey through French impressionism, charm, and whimsy, brought to life with Yang’s expressive touch and interpretative depth.

A prizewinner of numerous international competitions and an active performer throughout North America and Europe, Vincent Yang is equally at home in solo, chamber, and contemporary repertoire. His performances, praised for their nuance and sincerity, have been broadcast by KUSC Radio and Colorado Public Radio and have reached audiences far beyond the concert hall.

Portraits from Paris brings together rarely recorded pieces and beloved works of the French repertoire. The album opens with Emmanuel Chabrier’s 10 Pièces pittoresques, a suite brimming with elegance, wit, and painterly detail. Mompou’s Scènes d’enfants follows, offering intimate glimpses of childhood memories, full of tenderness and simplicity. Ravel’s Menuet Antique, one of his earliest works, bridges neoclassicism and nostalgia, while the album concludes with Vincent Yang’s own virtuosic solo piano arrangement of Paul Dukas’ L’Apprenti Sorcier, a brilliant and dynamic tour de force.

The outstanding CD is already available on iTunesAmazonSpotify, and YouTube.
