KNS Classical is proud to announce the release of guitarist Francisco Berény’s album, “Salzburg Recital”

Portuguese guitarist Francisco Berény completed his guitar studies in the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and obtained the highest marks in the Master’s in performanc.e in the class of Laura Young on the Mozarteum University, in Salzburg. 
The CD “Salzburg Recital” presents the program “Folias Through the Ages”, that was performed by Francisco, in recitals at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg. 

“Folia” is one of several dances and songs of popular origin that developed in the late Middle Ages on the Iberian Peninsula, having been assimilated by the end of the 15th century by the nobility. This theme (Folia) so popular throughout history in the creation of music through theme and variations, was also explored in music for guitar, as illustrated by the works on this CD, with a time arc of four centuries: from Gaspar Sanz to Leo Brower, including Fernando Sor and Manuel Ponce.
