Duo Canticel is back with the new CD “Canticel Passion”

Contralto Catherine Dagois and organist Edgar Teufel, Duo Canticel, are back to launch Canticel Passion, a CD with an eclectic program, from Baroque to contemporary music.

As defined by Catherine Dagois herself, this new album is “a great musical journey through time and space that begins in Africa, continues among Occtican repertoire, my native region, with an Ave Maria in Occitan (a creation of Canticel Duo) over the famous “Air on a G string” by Bach, and a final tribute to Catalonia.

Besides this spectacular trip through music, Edgar Teufel also presents works of symphonic organ, performed as a soloist on the magnificent Great Organ of Castelló d’Empúries. Created in 1803 by Jean-Pierre Cavaillé, from 1852 the organ has been enhanced and enriched by the organ builder from Barcelona Gaietà Vilardebo in the greatest respect for the original style. The transformation is such that it became one of the largest organs in Catalonia.

The CD is on available on iTunes and Amazon.
