Zhao Yun

ZHAO YUN, paino
Born in China, Zhao Yun began studying piano when he was only 4 years old.

At 16, Zhao Yun studied with Alexei Shmitov and graduated from the Moscow Conservatory Musical High School. In 2011, Zhao Yun graduated from the Moscow Conservatory studying with the great pianist and professor Mikhail Petukhov who is also the professor of Dmitry Masleev (1st Prize Tchaikovsky Competition). During Zhao Yun’s studies, he became very close friends with Dmitry Masleev and they performed many times together.

Zhao Yun has played in concerts in over 20 countries and performed solo concertos with orchestra in China, Italy, Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Portugal, Estonia, Bulgaria, and Latvia among others.

Zhao Yun is the winner of the following international competitions: International Piano Competition Bartolomeo Cristofori St. Petersburg, Russia (1st Prize) International Piano Competition Concentus Rome, Italy (3rd Prize) International Piano Competition Viktor Merzhanov (Special Prize of Best Performance of Tchaikovsky, and Special Prize of Emil Gilels) Valletta International Piano Competition in Malta (1st Prize).
