Sofia Cabruja

Born in Girona, Catalonia (Spain), Sofia Cabruja has a degree in Chemistry for the University of Barcelona at the same time as the Diploma in Piano Performance from the Conservatori del Liceu. After continuing her studies at the Ecole Normale in Paris, she obtains the Master of Music at Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, USA.

Her international career has taken her to perform throughout Europe, America and Asia. She performs regularly in major cities including Paris, London, Madrid, Brussels, Rome, Prague, Vienna, Barcelona, Belgrade, Milan, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Shanghai, among others.

Since 1987, together with Carles Lama, she is a member of the famous “Carles & Sofia, piano duo”, a paragon of artistic talent and one of Europe’s most renowned piano duos. Sofia is also involved in a variety of projects for promoting classical music and classical musicians, having founded and directed different series of concerts and festivals. Her discography includes several CDs both solo and for four hands and she is an acclaimed artist of KNS classical label.

Sofia has always been a person committed to the social needs. She possesses a UNICEF award, in recognition of her humanitarian efforts towards the needy children of the world.
