Ruben Micieli
Ruben Micieli was born in Ragusa (Italy) in 1997. He started playing piano at the age of 4. Since 2006 he’s a student of professor Giovanni Cultrera and achieved the degree in piano at the Instituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Vincenzo Bellini of Catania in 2014 with the top marks and cum laude. In April 2015 he got the first prize, the Audience Award and the Promising Talent’s Award at the Mayenne International Piano Competition in France. In June he got the First Prize at the I International Piano Competition ClaMo “Región de Murcia” in Spain. He won the 18th edition of Val Tidone Competition “Premio Silvio Bengalli” (2nd Prize with no 1st Prize Award). In November, he got the 3rd Prize at the XXXII Premio Venezia Competition, the most important competition for Italian Pianists. In April 2016 he won the 1st prize at the Leopold Bellan Piano Competition in Paris. In October 2016, he won the third prize at the Verona Piano Competition.
He started having recitals at the early age of 13. He played in concert halls around Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Austria, Germany) among which are Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, Auditorium di Parma (Italy), Salle Cortôt de Paris (France), Auditorium Victor Villegas de Murcias (Spain), Auditorium Palazzo Gran Guardia (Verona), Villa Pignatelli (Napoli).
He played with different orchestras such as Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras (Portugal), Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia (Spain), Chernovsty Philharmonic Orchestra (Ukraine), Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), Orchestra Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini of Parma (Italy).
He is also a composer.
