Mai Koshio
Born in Osaka, Japan in 1991. She began learning piano with Natsuko Nihonyanagi at the age of four. She won the 1st prize in E category (2003) and 2nd prize and Audience prize in the highest category (2015) at the Piano Teachers National Association Competition (PTNA), received the incentive award at the Yasuko Hukuda Prize Audition of PTNA (2007) in Japan. She appeared as a guest performer on the Aloha International Piano Festival in Hawaii by scholarship of Yasuko Hukuda Prize. She also won the 2nd prize in Jr.D category at the Valsesia Musica International Competition in Italy (2007), the 2nd prize at the Mauro Paolo Monopoli International Piano Competition in Italy (2016), and the 1st prize at the Amigdala International Prize in Italy (2019). She contracted with KNS classical for releasing CD as reward of Amigdala International Prize.She performed as a soloist with the Geidai Philharmonia, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Donau Symphonic Orchestra, and Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese. She has given recitals in Japan which was organized by Yamaha Music Osaka and performed in front of the imperial family at the imperial place, and She was invited to play concerts in Austria, Italy, Belgium, Hungary and others. She has invited to perform the Festival of La Folle Journée Tokyo and some other festivals.In addition she has a lot of activities of solo concerts and chamber music.She participated as a scholar in many international academies and took master classes of Andras Schiff, Piotr Paleczny, Dominique Merlet, Mikhail Voskresensky, Jean-Marc Luisada and so on.She studied under Aki Kuroda, Hiroko Mukunoki and Rintaro Akamatsu. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree at Tokyo University of the Arts under prof. Susumu Aoyagi.She graduated with a Master’s degree at Universität Mozarteum Salzburg and she is currently studying Postgraduate under prof. Jacques Rouvier.
