Julian Walder, honoured with many national and international first prizes, won the 1st Prize at the NYIAA – “New York International Artists Association”; violin competition with a half-hour Carnegie Weill Recital Hall appearance in New York in October 2018. In September 2019 he was awarded the “Golden Medal with high distinction” at the 3rd Berliner International Competition – Strings.

Julian Walder is Grand Prix and 1st Prize winner of the Grumiaux Competition in Belgium. He is also a laureat of the Wieniawski-Lipinski Competition in Poland and received a special prize in the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Novosibirsk/Russia as well as high donated prizes from Rotary Vienna for supporting his talent and art. Julian is a multiple 1st prize winner with maximum points at “Prima la Musica” in Austria, and he is also winner of Musica Juventutis. He has given recitals at Vienna Konzerthaus and Vienna Musikverein. His performances outside Austria include the USA, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, and Italy, and he plays regularly as soloist with orchestras, the latest being a tour in Russia with the Brahms Violin Concerto.

Julian Walder was born in Vienna in 2000. His most influential former teachers were Yair Kless, Arkadij Winokurow and Kathryn Krueger, and for musical input Vadim Gluzman. Since 2019 he has continued his studies with Natalia Prishepenko in Germany. Julian Walder is supported by Thomastik Infeld Vienna.
