Francisco Berény

Francisco Berény was born in 1995 in Porto (Portugal) and started his musical studies at the age of 11 years old. Berény performed in several places in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Austria: many music schools in Porto, Aveiro, Ovar, Albergaria, Viseu, Maia, Matosinhos, Jobra and Ovar. Francisco gave concerts in the Portugal Assembly, Porto City hall, Casa da Música, University of Porto and he has participated in some music festivals in Porto where performed in several small halls as a soloist and in music chamber with cello, guitar ensemble, piano and guitar trio, in Lagos (Algarve), in the Festival Musicatos in Paços de Brandão and in the Festival de Outono (Aveiro) with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Beiras the Andaluz concerto by Rodrigo for four guitars. Furthermore, Francisco has been making contact with other teachers in Masterclasses such as Michel Sadanovsky, Dejan Ivannovic, Javier Somoza, Margarita Escarpa, Pedro Rodrigues, Judicael Perroy, Marco Tamayo, Michalis Kontaxakis, Daniel Wolf, Hubert Kappel, Zoran Dukic, Joaquin Clerch, Laura Young, Ricardo Gallen and Marcin Dylla. In addition, Francisco has participated in some competitions where he obtained prizes, as the first prize in 2019 on the Intertnational competition of Fundão. Berény concluded the bachelor’s degree in performance and the Teaching master of classical guitar in the University of Aveiro (Portugal) with Pedro Rodrigues and finished with the highest grade the Master’s in performance in the class of Laura Young on the Mozarteum University in Salzburg where he lived for three years. In the year 2022 Francisco organized and curated the guitar festival “Teoria das 6 cordas”.
