Duo Cavatine
DUO CAVATINE
United by a deep passion for music, the Duo Cavatine is above all a long story of friendship. Their duo name is inspired by the Poulenc sonata, the very first one they played together during their university studies. Praised for their dynamic and refined personalities, the duo reveals a great complicity and a poignant sensitivity, the secret of their compelling stage presence. From Monteverdi to Schnittke, their artistic versatility is evident in their wide range of musical styles. Winners of international competitions and most recently of the International Music and Fine Arts Competition, Noémie and Michel-Alexandre combine their great virtuosity and mastery of their instrument, making them one of the most prominent emerging duos. They are regularly invited to numerous venues and concert series, including the Pro Musica Society, the Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur, the Doors Open at Southminster in Ottawa, the Belle Chapelle in Sherbrooke, the Orford Music Festival, the Oasis Musicale, and notably a concert at Music Mondays in Toronto that was recorded and broadcast on CBC Music’s “In Concert” program. Equally passionate about teaching, they will both be part of the teaching staff at the Heifetz International Music Institute in the summer of 2022.
