Yurika Kimura
Yurika Kimura was born in Hokkaido, Japan on 26 March 1993 and began learning piano at the age of four with Yoko Miyazawa and Noriyuki Miyazawa.
She was a pupil of Reiko Kikuchi, Katsunori Ishii and Hironao Suzuki at the Tokyo College of Music (She graduated in 2015). Since 2016 she has been studying with Markus Groh at the Berlin University of the Arts.
She has won many prizes, including First Prize and F.Liszt special prize at the 4th ASEAN International Concerto Competition in Jakarta in 2011. Silver medal in the Professional Category at the 13th Chopin International Piano Competition in ASIA in 2012. She won First Prize (Grand Prix) at the 8th Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition in Vienna in 2016. Fifth Prize at the 6th Svetislav stančić international piano competition in Zagreb in 2018.
She has performed on many recitals, music festivals and concerts in Japan, as well as in France, Russia, Canada, Spain, Poland, Germany and Austria. She played the chamber music with the Warsaw String Quartet in Tokyo and major concerto performances include with the Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
